   Free Chimaera Comics on WOWIO

The company I'm doing some work for, Chimaera Comics, is putting a bunch of their comics online to read for free. They're free to read or you can pay 99 cents to download a PDF. Check 'em out...

   Three more Bridgman sketches

For those that have no idea what these are, I'm making my way through George Bridgman's Complete Guide to Drawing From Life and drawing every picture in the book. I'm about a third of the way through now and I've been working at it for a little over a year. Click on these to make 'em bigger.

Thoughts on Kung-Fu Panda, Guitar Hero on Tour

Kung-Fu Panda blew me away with how good it was. Considering it came from Dreamworks, I was expecting something more akin to Shrek, but if someone showed me this movie without telling me anything about it, I would guess that Pixar made it; it's that good.

Besides just being an entertaining story, though, in every scene I found myself just admiring how the movie looked. The opening dream-sequence, animated in a Samurai Jack-esque style, was an incredibly gorgeous introduction to the movie, and the rest of the movie had beautiful color and shot compositions. If you enjoyed Wall-E and want another great animated movie to watch this summer, do yourself a favor and see Kung Fu Panda while it's still in theaters. It needs to be seen on the big screen.

I played Guitar Hero on Tour today, which is the Nintendo DS version of the popular guitar simulation video game. It has only a fraction the number of songs the regular versions usually do, so after a few minutes it gets a little boring. Also, it hurts the wrist like crazy. I had a hard time finding a comfortable way to play it. It also seemed like they had a hard time getting big-name licenses for this game. The biggest songs on here are a non-single song from Nirvana's "Nevermind" album and a Red Hot Chili Peppers song from 1989.

   Catching up on Bridgman sketches

I've been continuing to do these sketches since my website went down in December, but haven't been able to post them for obvious reasons.

My first published work is out today

If you were to buy a copy, I would consider you to be awesome. If not, you'll still be awesome, but you'll be $13 richer and have one less book on your shelf.

Hey everyone!

The sincerest of apologies for taking this long to get back to you on this. The release date of Fat Chunk volume one was first postponed, then every week it was due to be released it wasn't appearing in the listings. So I wanted to make sure before announcing.

But I'm pleased to say FAT CHUNK VOLUME ONE : ROBOTS is released TODAY!

Please spread the word about our first Fat Chunk (cover attached), it really is a great little bundle o' comic joy. 144 pages, 80 artists, all crammed into a tidy little book. It's taken alot to get this sucker to print (traumas we need not list here!), so please tell everyone to go buy it! It lives or dies by word of mouth!

The diamond order code is MAR083402 (this is the code to tell your comic book store, so they can order it in). Alternatively, it's already on sale on amazon.com, and will be spreading into various online outlets and comic/book stores over time..

On a personal note, can I just thank EVERYONE who contributed and helped make this such a great little project. I hope the results come out as you'd wished, and hopefully you'll find new audiences!

If you want to see the story that I did for FAT CHUNK, it's here: page one and page two.

And you can order it off Amazon here.
